We all know how painful software bugs can really be, after all, these are the cruel little digital entities that confront your way, and shoo off the most loyal customers in a snap. Often the smallest mistakes by developers in software programming at the level of writing source codes or at the level of compilation, lead to a big bust of their reputation. To solve such issues and save both users and developers, a program named Bugzilla was launched way back in 1998 as an open source project, which was quiet successful in finding bugs and errors in programs. But the main disadvantage with Bugzilla is that it happens to be a Web based project which leads to slower bug-tracking and navigational delays as you are performing whole task over the Internet. In order to solve this problem, ALM works have done a much needed work of introducing a desktop application for the same program in the form of Deskzilla Lite v.2.0.
Deskzilla Lite v.2.0 lets you track all the bugs in your program right on your desktop screen. This way, you can save a lot of your precious time which can be utilized in more development programs. As an added advantage, if the project that you want to scan is small in size with less than 1000 bugs, you can use the freeware version of this program for unlimited duration. However, over this limit, you need to pay a nominal price to unleash the power of this program on big commercial projects. The program automatically downloads all the log and information about bugs right from the Bugzilla and saves the whole record in a database based locally on your system. The whole database is thoroughly indexed leading to fast seeking of required bug information and live statistics about the respective bug data.
Deskzilla Lite v.2.0 is overall, a utility oriented program and especially scores high for its range of features at optimum price. Hence, it receives a score of four rating points on the scale of five.
